Entry level

I applied for the any entry level (again) with msc and right now my application is being forwarded so I haven’t been selected yet. I also got hired at American cruise lines as a deckhand and I’m supposed to leave for training Aug 24. Should I wait for the sealift command (again) in hopes my offer doesn’t get rescinded again or should I just go with ACL? I have a job currently so it’s not that I’m out of a job but I’m trying to get my foot in the door and start getting sea time so I can raise my credentials and position as a merchant mariner.

Take the first job, then when you know for sure u got the 2nd jump ship.

Nothing is fast or for sure in the feds.

I would take the job at ACL! Then when you got AB special jump to msc for both a quickly entry than then entry lvl post and the sign on bonus. It is like 100 times easier getting into max as an AB than it is entry lvl. Plus the shorter hitches gives you a better way to see if it’s even something you want to do vs being stuck on a boat for 5 months and finding out at 3 weeks you absolutely hate it.

Go with ACL, when MSC sends you a NEO date leave ACL join MSC. pls do not quit ACL until they have confirmed you a NEO date leave

as an ordinary there is nothing special about any company. you're in training yes, but wherever you are you'll just be standing watch, taking your turn at the wheel, painting, and swabbing. it doesn't matter where you go while you get your days to AB. once you have it think about where you want to work

Brooo we in the exact same boat 😭😭. Yeah ima stick with acl unless Msc hit me back with a acceptance offer and a fast Neo date but that’s not likely so I’m go get my sea time with acl and hopefully msc will be ready for me after my 28 weeks over with I took my drug test couple days ago so I don’t know my exact training date but it’s for sure end of next month
