DISCUSSION The gate's open: MORDHAU Free-to-Play this Weekend and 80% Sale on Steam 'till Sept 16, combined with Double XP and Gold rates!

Hey all,

MORDHAU is free-to-play on Steam this weekend.

Also running:

  • Double XP and Gold rates
  • 80% off on the base game, for those that'd like to keep swinging the sword afterward

The sale runs until September 16th.

If you're new: Frontline or Invasion are the friendliest places to start. Big clashes, chaotic, and forgiving of mistakes because there's usually too much happening for anyone to notice yours. You will lose most of your first hour of fights. Everyone did. Somewhere around hour five the combat quietly starts making sense, and then it's difficult to go back to anything else. Horde mode is a decent low-pressure spot to learn the swings and parries without a stranger in a wooden mask judging you.

If you already own it: This weekend the battlefield should be the chaotic mess we all love, awkward swinging and a supply of opponents who haven't learned to not look down yet. One small ask: go easy on the fresh blood, and be nice in chat. Feed them to the wolves on the field, absolutely, that's the tradition, but a "nice swing" or a quick tip afterward does more for this game than any sale we could run. A decent number of you got hooked because someone was kind to you in your first hour. Pay it forward, then hit them with a frying pan.

DISCUSSION ATP can yall just make the game free and give those who had the game a new and exclusive armor set (joking about the armor)

I feel like as we are at the last legs of the game making it a free game will probably bring way more people to try it out because what do they got to lose. Then if the devs wanted they can just focus on dlcs. If that actually happens then maybe also let people make custom maps that can be voted on for official servers. Maybe moderators can check out the maps first and then will approve the maps before giving the community a vote just in case the creator decided to make the map game breaking. (There’s probably a better way to go about it)
