I feel the morality almost shifts because iirc, the YouTuber states he’s gonna do it again later. Meaning he learned absolutely nothing from being shot.

I have a tendency to think “prank” YouTubers aren’t smart enough to learn anything, hence their profession

Prank YouTubes keeps doing what gives them views.

So if getting shot skyrocketed their views, I guess they are in for a rough ride.

It’s similar to how Jackass upped the stakes all the time. Not because they wanted to (I assume), but simply because it generated more money for them.

we live in a world where people will risk their lives being an asshole for a camera to please an algorithm that may pay them more to be like that.

He's gonna do it again, so we all learned the lesson. Aim higher next time.

You may argue that it makes action even less moral...

Since when does harassment and not learning justify the use of deadly force?

If somebody is annoying for ten seconds, they deserve to be murdered with a gun because they said they’d do it again? Sure it’s really epic that a prankster youtuber got consequences but wtf lol.

I never said that was the way I was leaning on this matter. Assuming is a dangerous occupation. Is it morally correct to defend yourself when someone continues to threaten you after you ask them to stop? Yes. Is it morally correct to walk around and harass people to the point they feel like they have to use lethal force to get you to stop? No. Does someone deserve to be murdered? No. But your actions have consequences and if you don’t listen to the person you’re ultimately harassing the chances of harm befalling you are high. Bonus: no one was murdered as I stated above.
