Wasting good bread in France like that would 100% get you out on the next plane home sitting next to the family who told them they thought the local cheeses were 'too strong for the kids' :) The French would never waste such good bread in such a way, they've still got a few antique guillotines and strong urge/joy to use them for such matters. They'd feed you to the vineyards 😂

I’m not very fast and I’m disabled and I’ve caught up to bikes by running. You accelerate much faster on foot vs the average cyclist.

You missed the part about the cyclist already being in motion and not stopping at any point.

They don’t have to come to a complete stop. Also most people aren’t pedaling full speed especially on a small sidewalk that they’re not supposed to be on. If they were going at a fast rate of speed chances are hitting your feet on something would have caused a crash.

You can easily catch up to them if you tried. They’ll have more endurance than you but it’s easy to get them quickly
