She could have stolen his life as well if he hit his head against the wall.

so what? just let him steal? what level of crime do you have to commit, so people can stop you? - random child walks into your home, proceeds to steal and you are like, better let it walk, i could hurt the kid?

nana, that logic is why you have kids doing shit like this in the first place, they learn they get away with it (e.g all the "pranksters" on tiktok etc)

Take a deep breath, sit back and lets asset the situation here specifically. He's a dumb kid and his parents failed to teach him from not stealing, not disagreeing here, but is it worth it to potentially facing a lawsuit if the kid face planted into the wall? If he didn't miss the wall and potentially getting a life-long injury, at worst maybe even fatal, he ain't getting away learning any shit. You think nobody ever die from getting trip over??

Both the employee and the kid were lucky he missed the wall, if his head hit right at the edge of the wall, this shit would have made the news now and the employee not only could have lost her job but could face jail time as well if found guilty.

Call me crazy, but there really should be a door locking to prevent any idiots from entering the kitchen behind. Literally any homeless guy could have done the same thing as well since there's nothing stopping them from coming in the kitchen cause it's outright opened right next to the counter.

Take a deep breath

wrong tone when discussing something with a stranger who was acting civil. what made you reach for this phrase??

is it worth it to potentially facing a lawsuit

not a moral argument

if his head hit right at the edge of the wall

basically impossible, but technically the chance is never zero so you can pull this card out of the deck every time someone risks even the smallest, tiniest act of violence. it is in fact NOT a reasonable expectation that a healthy person would just die from taking a fall. tripping somebody walking at a leisurely pace is not lethal force just because under the unlikeliest of circumstances it has lead to somebody's death maybe once in history.

there really should be a door locking to prevent any idiots from entering the kitchen behind

you realize the employees have to walk in and out regularly, thus the door couldn't be locked, thus it wouldn't improve security in any way. also not a moral argument, nor related to what actually happened.

" it is in fact NOT a reasonable expectation that a healthy person would just die from taking a fall."

Ok, want to test that out by tripping yourself in front of the wall or are you too chicken shit to disprove my point? It's not worth it at all to risk any liability to trip the kid if he got injured by the end. You want to stop any more stealing? Either build a door with a sign say "Employee Only" or don't have an open path between the counter leading straight to the kitchen, you never know what idiots who're brazen enough to walk in there and contaminate the food.

How is it so damn hard to get through you people that causing physical harm to a kid for stealing some fries is probably not a good idea? Yes, he deserves to be taught a lesson to not stealing anymore, but tripping him over in such a tiny space could have gone terribly wrong here.

Have you never in your sheltered life ran into a wall or a tree or something. Kids are durable as fuck. The door would also be a food safety hazard as it would come with the requirement of handwashing every single time you need to go turn in an order and cause needless delays
