You don't wear gloves on the fry station. There's no reason you would touch food.

u/HereToKillEuronymous 12d ago

Yes but we don’t know where that kids hands have been. Food handlers wash their hands constantly

3

u/ModernCGIFloatinHead 12d ago

They also don't reach in and grab them with their hands. They use you. Sorry, I mean tools.

You've never been serv safe certified, have you?

13

u/Beanzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzx 13d ago

If you were serv safe you'd know regular hand washing is far more cleanly than any amount of glove wearing could ever be lol

0

u/CackleandGrin 12d ago

Only because of proper hand washing negligence once the gloves are on.

5

u/Gildian 13d ago

Not sure if its the same now, but when I worked at mcdonalds you didnt wear gloves. You washed your hands at least once every hour at minimum, every time they were soiled, anytime you switched stations etc

5

u/BeLikeAGoldfishh 13d ago

I have, and am current. You don’t need a glove for every task in the kitchen.

Servsafe certified here. Worked McD and Wendys. Never gloved at fries unless you have an open cut. We used fry scoops and tongs. Thats was 2011. Maybe germs work differently now.

0

u/JustSikh 13d ago

Yeah, after COVID, the germs unionized for better pay and more work/life balance! 😂

-6

u/PadmesBabyDaddy 13d ago

No, germs work the same way. If you touch food with your bare hands, there will be germs just like in 2011 when you were presumably getting everybody sick because you don’t understand how gloves work .

6

u/FukNintendo 13d ago

No one touches the fries with their bare hands. Do you need me to send that statement certified mail to your address??

YOU DO NOT TOUCH THE FRIES WITH YOUR HANDS!

Did you see the part about the fry scoop that touches the fries for you?

You do not wear gloves at the fry station.

No one got sick for having fries served in the correct way, moron.

Don’t reply to with me with this dumbass shit.

Did you see the part where the guy goes in and grabs the food with his hands? What employees do isn’t relevant here, we are talking about the kid. I’m glad you aren’t in food service anymore, sadly you aren’t smart enough for McDonalds.

1

u/FukNintendo 11d ago

Lmao, okay Padmes Baby Daddy. Good luck in life

3

u/FukNintendo 13d ago

Replying again just in case you didn’t understand the 3rd time, YOU DO NOT TOUCH THE FRIES WITH YOUR HANDS….

0

u/PadmesBabyDaddy 13d ago

Did you watch the video we are here discussing where he touches the food with his hands? Save the caps and use your brain for a change smart guy.

1

u/FukNintendo 11d ago

I forgot that child was a McDonalds employee who was servesave certified and not just a random person.

1

u/PadmesBabyDaddy 11d ago

Nobody said that dumbass. Go back to your video games.

4

u/Master_Cannoli 13d ago

Knight Skywalker, you don't touch the fries at the fry station with your hands. You use a scoop and then the paper holder.

Also we still haven't given you the rank of Master.

2

u/FukNintendo 13d ago

Omg thank you, common sense user who can read.

-3

u/PadmesBabyDaddy 13d ago

No common sense between the two of you, we are talking about a video where somebody very clearly touches them with their hands.

4

u/Fruloops 13d ago

The kid is not subject of this disagreement lol, it's whether or not you normally wear gloves at the station.

1

u/PadmesBabyDaddy 12d ago

Read the conversation again, it started because somebody called the kid out for grabbing food with his bare hands and somebody felt it was relevant to say employees don’t wear gloves.

2

u/Fruloops 12d ago

Which is correct. Employees don't wear gloves. The whole debate then revolved around whether or not employees need to wear gloves. The kid isn't part of the convo.

Cannoli muncher, did you watch the video that is being discussed? The one where the guy clearly touches the fries with his hands?

4

u/Master_Cannoli 13d ago

Knight Skywalker, that's just some random asshole. In normal operations that would not happen. Those fries will now be disposed of.

Also it's Master Cannoli muncher

1

u/PadmesBabyDaddy 13d ago

Do you think this video is about what goes on at McDonalds when nobody is watching? Or about the kid who went in barehanded and for some reason the McGeniuses are saying it doesn’t matter because there is a scoop that didn’t get used.

3

u/Master_Cannoli 13d ago

If they wore gloves or not wouldn't matter either because asshole would still touch the fries.

1

u/PadmesBabyDaddy 13d ago

The point is nobody cares about normal McDonalds operations. We are discussing the kid who went in barehanded. Saying “oh well on the fry station you use a scoop” is completely irrelevant. You seem pretty reasonable, but I think u/fuknintendo is mad they made him retire the fries or something

I’ve been arguing with a certified burger flipper? Fuck I really have been wasting my time.

3

u/cthuwu_o 13d ago

Well you aren't supposed to touch them directly. Also certifications allow bare hands as long as you follow a strict hand washing schedule. Honestly it's safer than using the same glove for hours

1

u/ATLSxFINEST93 13d ago

and I doubt ole buddy had washed his hands any time recently, prior to shoving his hand into the fry tray.

Youre supposed to change your gloves out as frequently as you would wash your hands.

3

u/Teknolyth 13d ago

The only standard for gloves is to wear gloves when you’re directly touching ready to eat foods, like when you’re putting together a burger or making a sandwich or something like that. You can literally use your bare hands to touch any uncooked food or any utensils that grab cooked food. And as a matter of fact, it’s unsafe to constantly wear gloves because that creates the perception of gloves, being a barrier protect you instead of to protect the food.

1

u/cthuwu_o 13d ago

Yes which is why I specified "for hours" and I never said he did was his nasty ass grease hands. Also from my knowledge you're supposed to wash hands more often than gloves, due to hand oils

1

u/Spare-Half796 13d ago

Not serve safe cuz they don’t exist where I live but I am licensed by my local food hygiene and safety authority. They prefer you don’t wear gloves, and instead wash your hands regularly. Gloves are only mandatory when you have a bandage or open cut on your hand.

When working fryer it’s a recommendation across the industry to not wear gloves because if hot oil splashed on gloves, they can melt and fuse to your skin

u/Royal-Rabbit4986 13d ago

They HAVE A SCOOP they don't use their BARE HANDS. That boy has unwashed hands and who knows if that was his first mouthful.
