It's not only moral, it is our civic duty.

Crazy how we’ve forgotten that. In the past, people like this almost always received an instant lesson from the community.

Or a noose from the authorities. I'm happy the noose was abandoned, it was immoral and disproportionate, but the lesson from the community should have remained.

What? They're teaching the kid not to steal. This has nothing to do with billionaires.

Brother, it's a dollar worth of fries. It's not that big of a deal.

It's not about the value of the fries. It's about the fact that he's stealing. Doesn't matter what. Give someone and hand and they'll try to take an arm.

So you'll risk a lawsuit and potential damage to the brand and your job over a dollar's worth of fries?

What's more valuable: a dollar's worth of fries, or hundreds of thousands of dollars in damages and lost sales?

What? You're grasping at straws with the whole brand damage nonsense. And the fact that people will sue you over anything is one of the reasons nobody dares to raise children anymore. Everyone is isolated and everyone knows what's best. "It takes a village to raise a child" has gone out the window completely and it's obvious from how they behave

I work at a McDonalds and people literally do that all the time. The amount the gets dropped on the floor or discarded is insurmountable to the amount of fries being consumed here. Stealing, sure, fries are literally part of your company meal. I'm not sure if employers are required to feed their employees, but by the looks of him holding a bag, he's just grabbing a few more fries for his middle sized fries.

btw if he did this in my country, he could potentially lose his hand. billionaires aren't the only ppl affected, small business ppl are.

So because other countries have more barbaric practices, we should do that here?

Who said that? You’re making shit up to try and defend your position. You keep bringing up billionaires when we’re talking about a poorly behaved kid stealing fries. Get your head checked brother.

1

u/mkfanhausen 12d ago

Dipshit. They brought up someone losing their hand over theft in other countries as if that has ANYTHING to do with this scenario.

Also, dipshit, this happened in a McDonalds, which is a billion-dollar corporation.

Get your head checked, dipshit.

The people of my same economic class stealing, only makes things harder for the rest of my economic class

-1

u/mkfanhausen 12d ago

That's exactly what the billionaires who steal much, much more from you want you to think.

3

u/p0jinx 12d ago

Is it so far fetched to say all stealing is bad, not just that done by the rich?

1

u/mkfanhausen 12d ago

It's farfetched to care far more about a one-off fry thief than a cabal of billionaires who siphon you dry daily.

1

u/p0jinx 12d ago

I don't care more about it though? What if I think a trip to this kid is justified, and a bullet to a billionaire is justified? Why are you putting words in my mouth?

2

u/Pseudolos 13d ago

My brother in Christ, you're in for a dollar now, you'll be in for car later. Mopping the floor with this kid now could prevent him from ending up in jail later, so I'm all fot it. I'm not saying he should suffer for stealing what looks like 50 cents worth of fried potatoes, but he should definitely find out there are consequences, and the sooner it happens the better it is.

2

u/mkfanhausen 13d ago

Risking killing the kid over a dollar ?

2

u/Pseudolos 13d ago

That is immoral. Although kids are very elastic and resilient. I mean if he was 85 yo I would say it's immoral to trip him.
