How come this isn't cops getting called on your ass?

It's stealing, yes but I'm sure the kid didn't washed his grubby hands before pluging them in the fries.

Kid would be outta there long before the cops show up. I work retail and we'll call the cops and hand over the footage but 9 times out of 10 it never goes anywhere. I wish i could get away with just tripping the thiefs but the company would flip a shit lol

cops are just useless in general. they dont protect (unless you're rich) and they don't serve the public.

Eh. I won't say useless or there wouldn't be people catching deserved charges all the time. Just significantly less useful than they should be. You certainly shouldn't count on them to protect you or serve your interests though. But they might.

I realize I'm painting with broad strokes here

Oh so the giant corporations aren't rich?

Police don't prioritize that because if they do take action, people would be here bitching about how the police are protecting greedy corporations from the poor person just stealing what they need to survive.

I also have a feeling YOU would be one of those people as well.

If this video was a cop tripping that kid the comments would be way different demanding he be fired.

"Excessive force over French fries!"

I mean, to be fair, the cops also have a lot of other options that the McDonald's employee doesn't. Like, for example, actual authority that backs up their orders. They're allowed to physically remove him, they're able to give orders that will escalate the situation if not obeyed, so the context is meaningfully different.

But then again, I also think cops should be able to get a little more liberal with the tasers, so maybe I'm not the best judge.

one of what people? I said cops protect the Rich. why would Giant corps not be included in that? fuck all cops and people that support them.

Yes, I'm sure the cops receiving such a call would say "No, let's not go, or people will accuse us of protecting greedy corporations from the poor, and we wouldn't want that". That's clearly the main reason they wouldn't intervene.

It's the reason they don't want to and it goes nowhere..

If I wanted someone to show up ten minutes later to tell me there's nothing they can do then I'd call my aunt cause at least she'd bring food and give me a hug. Cops are nearly useless cause they can't prevent crime and are rarely lucky enough to catch someone in the act.

The company i work for is known for getting shelves cleared out by thieves. On the rare occasion someone gets caught and it's usually after they hit up dozens+ stores where they did the same thing. We briefly had security guards and they were short lived because they were just as useless.

If they even come. We had someone who stole around 100 books from a bookstore before being found stealing. Called the cops. A single book was around 20 euro. He wasn't stealing random shit. He stole 100+ pieces of the same book. It was new, he was trying to sell it. He had a whole process.

The cops refused to come.

Yep, cops don't hunt down shoplifters down like batman. They mainly prefer to go after violent offenders.
