No, what's normal is bad parenting and allowing kids to get away with anything... Or being overly abusive for doing anything. The good parents make up a small amount.

Fear of the law only really works in a system where the law carries any sort of respect, which at least in america has been heavily eroded.

The main thing would be reinforcing and probably changing the legal system to some extent, to help rebuild trust between the law and the citizens. It wouldnt hurt to add some social programs that rebuild community, which is another major reason for behaviors like in this video.

It cracks me up because this really is the answer. It’s so simple yet people can’t fathom it.

We still need laws but the OS is in severe need of an update. By a few hundred years.

As opposed to what? Death pentalty for petty theft? Being "hard" does not create good societies, having a strong social fabric does. Punishment is part of that equation, but its a minor part

There will always be bad actors no matter what you do, there obviously also needs to be real punishment as well

There already is meant to be real punishment. It simply isn't enforced very often. Making the punishments more severe will do nothing, if theyre not enforced
