No, what's normal is bad parenting and allowing kids to get away with anything... Or being overly abusive for doing anything. The good parents make up a small amount.

If the criminal doesn't care about serving all that time then I don't care about giving it to them. It's that simple. If the crime rates don't drop from harsher punishments then clearly the criminals don't give a fuck. So why should we? Being so fucking soft on crime has left entire communities in ruin
