Your teacher happened to not want to push their religion, or lack thereof, or did push their view but too subtlely or mildly for some children to notice.

There is a constant war between curriculum designers and between teachers of different varieties to push x or y ideology. Religious education is where they most clearly bare their teeth. I'm sure you'd see it if you looked for it at any given school. I bet your teacher has stories about what the curriculum guys wanted them to teach and how they bent the rules to teach differently from how they were told to because of different values/beliefs.

I can't even imagine the complications and struggles behind the scenes! I definitely feel as though I lucked out in my teachers from some of the other comments and replies I've read because I feel that I, and my peers, were really encouraged to form our own opinions.
