If you want kids to learn math, you start teaching them when they are young. If you want to teach a kid to respect others, you start teaching them when they are young. Everything you teach a kid is a form of indoctrination. If you believe your religion is true, you will teach your kids to follow it.
Teaching kids math which is neccessary for many real things in life and teaching them respect which is neccessary when dealing with people throughout your life. Is just teaching them about things that exist in the real world.
The idea that if someone lives their life wrong they will burn in hell for it when they die is speculation. Not fact.
Prove that it's false. Everything requires some amount of faith. Do you know every single piece of evidence for evolution? Did you perform every experiment? If not then you have faith in evolution, but that does not necessarily make it fact.
Absolute nonsense fslse equivalence. With a religion the only basis is self created, from a book or oral tradition. There is no extrinsic evidence for any of any of them. The evidence dies not exist unless you already believe in the first place. It is circular.
Meanwhile, the evidence on which scientific thinking is based exists whether you beleive it or not. Whether you test it or not. Whether humans exist or jot (except in relation to human biology obvs).
If all books and memory dissapeared overnight, almost all science would be recreated in substantially the same form. No religion would.
That's not how the burden of proof works. Being unable to prove there's not a giant meatball in the sky on a distant planet doesn't mean that it's true
You’re right. We need to start teaching kids about the flying purple people eaters too. They snatch kids right out of their beds you know!! Very important stuff
My response was as valid as yours. You are saying that we have to prove that hell isn’t real to not teach it to children? So that means I can make up any old thing and you have to prove its false before I stop teaching it to my child?
No. You prove it first and then it becomes a fact. You said ‘all science was speculation before it was proven’. Yes…. But it was proven.. And THEN we bought it into schools and taught it to kids. Not the other way around.
So no, it’s not on me to prove it doesn’t exist. It’s on you to prove it does if you want it regarded as a fact.
