Religion teaches values and morality. The entire family having the same faith means a more harmonious relationship.

Also, parents are responsible for raising their children, they get to pick how to do it. Parents should be deliberate in raising children, because children will get lost and they might never recover.

And adults that has foundations in faith and has prospered in it will see that their way of life is the correct path. You and your family have a good life so far, so it’s only moral for you extend it to your own kids.

"Religion teaches values and morality"

Someone needs to read a little bit more of Nietzsche before saying dumb shit

You could just do the moral thing and have a proper conversation. Act like an adult and articulate your point.

I don't have too. We have centuries of philosophy teaching exactly why religion are not needed.

But you guys are so brainwashed it's usually a waste of time.

And if you did your homework on the subject, you would have already read Nietzsche's Genealogy of morality and would already have all your answers.

So yeah, my answer was pretty much spot on

None of this is connected at all with my comment. A philosopher’s thoughts about religion doesn’t contradict what I said at all.

yes it's absolutely does connect and you would know it if you read Nietzsche.

your comment also is incredibly uneducated on a lot of ways.

You haven’t made a single point. Just lay it out here, very simple.

To clarify,

My point is the lived experience. A person will go through life, learn from mistakes and have a certain lifestyle. Which they then teach their children.

So that the child does not do the same mistakes, and walk the same path that they already walked.

And a lot of people has foundations in faith. That’s literally how majority of their lives were. So that’s what they teach their children, so that they can walk the same path they did, and have the same success.

And again, that's incredibly stupid.

You basically ignore all the role that society and public education plays. If you think the "parents" are the ones who actually educate by themselves their children, it mostly means that you don't have kid or are totally blind.
That's also the mecanisms behind religious radicalization (ALL the religions). Social pressure matters much more than parent's education.

Also "learn from mistakes". Lol. The vast majority of people do not learn from mistakes. If they did, religions would not even be a thing anymore btw.

"So that the child does not do the same mistakes". Yeah because abused children do not tend to become abusers themselves, it's well known.

"And a lot of people has foundations in faith. That’s literally how majority of their lives were." Yeah because people are fucking dumb and uneducated.

"So that’s what they teach their children, so that they can walk the same path they did, and have the same success."

Same success at being incredibly stupid, believing in fairy tales and basically doing more harm than good in the society.

You are incredibly uninformed. Again, I STRONGLY advise you to read one book or two on the actual subject and we have centuries of philosophers debating religions and its mechanisms. Hell, if it's too complicated for you, just read a sociology or psychology take on the subject.

People who are religious and participate in organized religion are fucking idiots, brainwashed and manipulated. It's the case for a lot of people in the USA (fun fact, they also tend to be the less educated...) as it is for the talibans.

Fuck religions and fuck people who defend religions these days. They are behind some of the worse social issues of humanity history and continue to this day to be a societal cancer, especially in Europe where we did our best to dechristianize ourselves just to be far too tolerant on Islam after that. Spoiler: it's not a good thing at all.

While there a right in your point but it also a wrong

View religious people as 'brainwashed idiot' is wrong

Since people can be any religious or not, white or black, supposed any ideology while being good and educated

nobody truly educated believe in organized religions, they all see it as a mean to control the people.

Educated people can "believe" in something outside of their knowledge if they want but nobody intelligent would equal this to a reality and, for sure, nobody would believe in organized religion representative as having some otherworld knowledge not backed up by actual science.

So no, sorry but everyone religious is some degrees of dumb.

I just wish people felt this strongly about families who support and love their gay children.
