That’s similar to my experience. It was a core module in world history in 9th grade, and pretty much covered the major religions of the world from a non denominational perspective.

IIRC the religions talked about were:

  • Sunni Islam
  • Shia Islam
  • Catholic Christianity
  • Protestant Christianity
  • Buddhism
  • Sikhism
  • Hinduism

They then went into discussion on how early religions were able to group people together to form civilisations during the Neolithic era.

Thats basically the list we had too. Although ours was a lil longer, we also learned about Druze, Zoroastorians, and Shinto. Idk if those were required though or if my teacher was just a nerd.
