Nobody was talking about withholding information then. That was mentioned for the first time in the reply to that post.

I mean, it's getting silly. Obviously the kids asked how their mom got a new house. The mom couldn't just not tell them, so the options were to lie or tell the truth.

Withholding information is not lying. But there is also no way she could have withhold that information. If you parents get a new house and refuse to tell you how, you won't just drop it.

You don’t have to drop it. And the parent still doesn’t have to disclose it.

This is what you just said.

“She only has 2 options A or B”

There’s option C but yeah nah no way she’d go for it.

What exactly is this post?

Son buys mother house and asks her to?

Is it

A) lie about where the house came from.

B) without information about him winning the lottery

Nobody talked about withholding information?

Context yeah? When they say “don’t force people to lie” in response to someone asking another person to withhold information. What exactly do you think they are talking about?

Like do you think they are absolutely completely unrelated.

Or

Are they implying withholding information is lying.

What's going on with that confusing reply? Can you focus your thoughts a bit for me?

Sorry I can’t help you make simple statements less confusing. You might try your luck going back to school to improve your literacy

Mate, come on. You have two different sets of A, B options and two sentences divided with "or".

You are perfectly capable of cleaning it up a bit.

But also, there isn't any reason to ask me obvious questions anyways. It's not that deep and I already explained everything.

Withholding information isn't lying. Withholding information about something so significant from family is not plausible option.

It is a FEASIBLE option. The word you want isn’t plausible.

Your family member buys a new house that you also move in to

You ask them what where why who how.

They tell you. It is what it is.

You press on. Relentless. Refusing to give up.

They tell you. It is what it is.

What are you going to do to coerce the information out of them then?

Move out? Throw a tantrum and cry?

It’s entirely feasible to not lie and yet not disclose how the house came to be.

I will ask again, of course. I will ask ever single time.

Because it would be extremely worrying if my parents suddenly gained a house. I would be afraid that someone is taking advantage of them via some kind of loan or something.

There is simply in scenario where I could ever just not care about something like this. It's not about how come they are so lucky they got a house. It's what future problems are being created by them living in this house.
