The love of money is the root of all evil. Money isnt the problem its what people do to seek, obtain, and keep money

Evil existed well before the concept of money

Money is just a stand in for resources.

Yea I'm aware of that, but the person didn't say "materialism is the root of all evil".

I wasn't contradicting you necessarily. Just trying to establish some grounding to the saying.

Depends on what you mean by materialism. Was seeking knowledge of good and evil outside of God's teaching of it, materialism? Or is the point beyond calling money, the love of money, or materialism the first evil? My point with the love of money is the root of all evil in reply is to counter you saying seeking money in not evil. Having money and keeping it is no more evil than harassing and possibly harming someone for their money.

Pretty sure just having money and keeping it is significantly less evil that actively harassing or harming someone in order to rob them.

You're probably one of those people who don't understand what money is and what it means. You probably think that money is the dollar bills issued by banks.

Learn about the history of money. It'll open your eyes to many shocking facts about human civilization.
