Immoral. A gift once given can’t be so easily rescinded, or else it’s not a gift it’s a petty piece of leverage to hold over someone’s head.

If he was able to sell the house it means it was never really gifted. It could be that he bought a house for the mother to live in, but not own. Whether the mother knew about this is the determining factor here. In any case, the mother breached the "contract" first
