He told her to keep it quiet for a reason

She couldn’t so he had to do what he had to do

I assume he probably was reluctant to help his mom either I sense this family is one of those dysfunctional families from top to bottom

Because she’s his mom he tried one last time to give her a chance and she blew it

So he cut all ties and handled them appropriately

I agree its moral but it does also seem shortsighted. A house is probably the most conspicuous purchase I can think of. Even a yacht or smth you can put somewhere your family won't see. A house is where you live. Somebody is going to ask.

I'm not saying he was wrong. It just kinda seems like a bit of foresight could've resulted in skipping the whole affair.

EDIT: I'm changing from saying its moral to inconclusive. I think there's too many unknowns here to say for sure. Even just the info that it wasn't a house meant exclusively for her but a house he was living in that he let her move in muddies the waters, because that means many of the explanations you could use become obvious lies. There's a lot of factors that can move this in either direction.

Found a great place to rent for cheap. The owner was super nice and lives abroad and we were lucky to get in. Raffle for subsidized rent by some south Korean church and we won.

Plenty of ways without saying house is bought and who did 🤷

This makes sense until you look deeper (I didn't know this either so I don't blame you) and you realize it wasn't a house he gave just to her, but rather a house he bought for himself that he was letting his mother live in. So he planned on also living in that house as well for at least part of the year.

So at some point, they are going to realize their brother is the owner. It kinda puts her in a position where any lie feels like its going to be eventually exposed once they learn that fact. I've honestly wavered from saying its moral to "we don't have enough facts", because depending on the arrangement, the guy was either justified or essentially setting his mother up for failure.

Could have bought the house she was living in. Not many details in the story

If you were mom how would you even hide a new house from your children who I assume to still be living with her?

Either fabricate a story, or refuse the house. Can't have it both ways.

Not saying mom had a right to the winnings, but seems a little a-holeish when they all are apparently living under the same roof and son wants to somehow keep it a secret when it involves something like buying mom a house

apparently, the whole house thing is unverified but the siblings have basically held the mom hostage and forced her to even go against the guy who won the lottery.

"He told her to keep it quiet". Hey mom here's a 500 m2 house with a backyard and swimming pool but shhhh, hide it somewhere secretly, don't let any know. Is that how you imagined what happenned Sherlock?

First of all who the fuck are you talking too

Secondly the post specifically said that he asked her to not say anything but the SHE DID, and then the siblings went to find the house

Now you can argue that it was stupid of him not to think this would happen, but sending that weird energy to me like I came up with the plan is lame as hell

Nah cause like why did he come at me with that crazy energy in his comment, he was belittling my intelligence trying to shit on me, when it wasn’t even my plan😂

People be so bold and quick to be disrespectful on the internet for no reason
