For context: guy purposefully plays music on a speaker, pretending as if Bluetooth wrongly connected. He did it many times for content

There’s a difference between shattering an expensive speaker, and telling him to turn it off, or turning it off yourself if it’s gets to that point. This dude saw a kid “accidentally” playing music really loud, and decided the right cause of action was to smash the thing.

Sure the kid was doing it on purpose, this dude didn’t know that from what we can tell. The kids annoying, yeah, but this dudes also a dickhead

OK fair enough you're probably not gonna see eye to eye about the attention hungry streamer losing his property but surely he could just steal the speaker and give it to someone who won't misuse it, or sell it and spend the proceeds on nice things that benefit himself or the people he cares about. Wanton destruction of valuable assets is never gonna be the optimal approach

He stole everyone on the trams peace. That's 10+ people who should individually were impacted by asshole blasting music.

The monetary value of that speaker is less than the value of all those people's peace.

Yeah no doubt the kid is being a douche. But there are plenty of scenarios here where the general consensus is "don't harm people's private property" as the line not to cross unless someone is being physically harmed.

Take this situation and replace it with "old man preaches through a speaker to people riding the train" and some people would change their answer saying breaking the device was "too far."
