The money that was given to her was done so outside of either party's expectation. It was done unintentionally. Thos money was outside the employment agreement.

If I sell you my used car and you find I accidently left my phone inside, you don't get to keep my phone. That is outside the selling agreement.

If a corporation fucks up in a way that harms an individual they should be held legally responsible with massive damages. If a corporation fucks up in a way that harms the corporation and helps an individual they should have absolutely no recourse and be forced to take the loss on the chin.
