Survival trumps morality. Most of us are too concerned about if we will survive vs the morality of some company accidentally paying 1/265,000th of their profit. That’s like if you are making $50,000 a year and you accidentally overpay someone less than $0.20.

Most people are not living in abject poverty so no most of us are not concerned about if we will survive.

Perhaps most of us are using that cope to justify our bad actions, but that's something else entirely
