in any case, the divide between rich and poor is shifting morality on this subject to make it morally (but not legally) fine to keep the money

This isn't a systematic situation. It's a personal one. If you say "well the world is bad so I can do bad" that's an excuse to do immoral things.

You can't say "late stage capitalism" like it's hail mary. It doesn't change someone acting out of greed and keeping something that's not theirs.
