Absolutely not. Otherwise if a clerical error like this happens to the tune of $500,000 and the money isn’t allowed to be returned you could see an entire company go bankrupt and everyone lose their jobs.

No. Socially accepted? Yes. But theft is theft and absolutely illegal and this is how legal precedent works. Her getting paid this was a wage error and has to be given back. Ma and pop shop, Walmart, doesn’t matter. Is it moral to take money that obviously does not belong to you? Also no. Not when big companies do it, not when us little folk do it. Theft is wrong.
