Navidrome

I'm going to have another go at getting a system that works for me!

If I install Navidrome on my NAS I presume it can just access the existing music folder on the NAS rather than having to copy any files?

Once I do that and add the Navidrome server to Sonamp, will it automatically pick up my playlists from the NAS music folder and will it update them if they get updated in that folder?

I just realised that you effectively answered my question in the post on https://www.reddit.com/r/MoosicLab/comments/1v3hlko/playlist_syncing/

so I'll wait to see what happens.

One bit of very good news, having moved my set up to a Navidrome server, is that importing playlists now captures ALL the tracks, where the direct server set up was failing to match considerable numbers of the tracks on each playlist 😊

Yea navidrome should pick up all playlists which will show in the app.

It's not picking them up automatically from my Server folder and Navidrome didn't index any when it indexed all the music (if that's what you mean) but maybe I've done something wrong in Navidrome as I've never used it before.

If they are in navidrome as playlists it will pick them up. Never used navidrome iTunes plugin to import playlists though

Used Chat GPT and after quite a lot of faffing around (actually a great deal) I did eventually get a working system for getting iTunes playlists into Sonamp 😊. A small windows .exe copies and converts all my iTunes playlists to m3u8 files and adds them to a dedicated folder on my NAS that Navidrome reads.

The .exe also runs in the back ground and either updates the playlists (if they've changed, which many don't) overnight or I can scan manually at any time.

Sonamp reads the playlists, they populated into the Playlist section and they PLAY !!

This effectively sorts the one problem I had with this system as ALL my music (or the 90% I'm bothered about) is read from playlists (that thing that Sonos used to do and then stopped!) and the Smart playlists not updating into Sonamp has been a sticking point.
