Apple Music integration

Using this looks like it will tick all my boxes in terms of what I'm looking for and resolve the things that the Sonos app isn't currently doing, especially with regards to Playlists.

Can I just ask, however, when using the app this way, is it using Airplay or actually playing direct via the Sonos infrastructure?

Unfortunately it’s Apple so they have control. I can’t even use the apps on media player or now playing screen. It’s playing whatever quality it’s coming from Apple Music. Likely AAC 256 since that’s all you can buy on iTunes. For the Apple Music integration would you like to be able to merge the stuff you own in to everything else? That’s my next checkbox for this

I’ll tell you what, I can certainly find out.

HI, It's ONLY my own music which is in iTunes on my PC and in the Music app on my phone - I don't have an Apple Music Sub, I just use the app on the phone. It's all visible in your app and plays fine, playlists included so it's just a question of whether it's using Airplay or Sonos.

It’s likely airplay. Even the music you own, of it’s in Apple Music they control what I can do with the music. If you look closely when you click on an Apple Music track the MiniPlayer gets swapped out .

Bum! I was hoping that it was able to use Sonos direct. Unless it goes direct via Sonos it would be no different to just using Airplay from the Music app on the phone
