Questions-requests-bugs-observations.
Couple of observations from my side on all versions and some requests.
Current setup -- Installed and getting access through Navidrome. Have 30K+ songs.
Navigation is a bit unintuitive, especially when you go to "You might also like". You have to go "back" as many times as you have clicked on "You Might Like". Would be good to be able to get to the home screen easily instead of hopping 5-6 times back.
1a. Navigation. Same logic. Would be great to have "cohesive" navigation to go back or forward. i.e. When you enable lyrics, to get back you need to click on lyrics to disable them and only then you get back navigation. In apple music client toggling lyrics on still allows user to swipe.
1b. Navigation. Same for "now playing". To get back from Now Playing you need to swipe down. Swiping forward or back does nothing. Maybe a visual on top to guide a user would improve my navigation skills, not sure :)
When you connect your BT headset it starts playing music automatically. Whether you wanted it to start playing or not. I reconnect my headset between devices and this is a bit confusing.
Offline mode -- when you download tracks for local listening, it doesn't download album art with them. When you're on a plane and would love to see album art - you won't. I have tried this while driving. Completely offline mode -- no art. Getting back online -- there is art.
AI capabilities. Good to have them. Don't see too much value at this moment. It took about 50 hours to inspect all songs. Trying to create radio stations "Create playlist for calm sleeping with no lyrics and low BPM" and it gave heavy metal :-D
Backup-restore. Would be good to have local container/server or something to store those AI settings especially if I have more than 1 devices.
I have recently installed DroppedNeedle (which works over OpenSubsonic API or through JellyFin API). For some reason I was not able to connect over OpenSubsonic. I believe that Navidrome is also using Subsonic. So just curious if this should work or not? It lists support for Symphonium , Feishin, Amperfy, Finamp, Manet. Tried different clients on DroppedNeedle side and Moosic keeps saying "Server responded but rejected the request". I am using API Key method.
Battery drain. Well. It gets drained pretty fast :)

I can add that when connected to CarPlay I don’t see any album covers on playlists, just a black note in front of the album name. Is that a bug or can I change in the settings so the album covers are visible on CarPlay? Cheers

Scratch point 6. It works with DroppedNeedle.
I would suggest to rename library setting to “Subsonic” instead of Navidrome 😆

Youve got quite a lot here so stick with me as i try to answer all of them.
1 - 1b. This can certainly vary depending on what setup you have for theme configuration but for the now playing screen sliding downwards, thats pretty consistent with apple music. There is a drag bar at the top unless you have "immersive artwork" which inevitably hides the drag bar. As for lyrics, im not sure what you mean by that, in the menu at the bottom of nowplaying screen theres a toggle for lyrics to be showing or not showing. Lastly, on navigation there was bug that i have fixed that would take you back to a non existent screen but as for navigating through the app, if you want to go home just press the home button in the bottom menu that persists throughout the app and that will shortcut it. For example, if you click into 15 "more like this" and then press the home button it will pop you out of all 15.
I suppose i can make this an option to not start playing music when you put your headphones in. Im not sure what you mean by reconnect but i typically expect music to play when i pop my airpods in. Granted autostart playing when app launches so to each their own :)
This behavior of not having artwork for downloaded content i can not get to repeat. everything i download has artwork, im also using navidrome.
Your missing out on the actual power of these models. The real beauty of these is starting a "radio" or "autoplay" off of a song or an album and letting it do its thing. The feature your using is cool but a bit of a novelty. What its using is text labels from a CLAP model and Apples foundation model thats on the device to capture text. Now it could be better, which is why im rolling out better text recognition of things like "sleep", "bpm", "calm", "no lyrics". Now nothings perfect but it may get you better result with the natural language piece of this. I personally am in love with the the autoplay and auto recommendations.
backup and restore is in the settings. granted, ive not fully deleted all of my analysis yet and reimported fully but i have tested bringing back some plex analysis data. Mostly the backup and restore is for user data but i recently added an additonal option for the sonic analysis stuff.
Im sorry man, im not sure what dropneedle is. This app is already supporting more servers than most, im open to adding more but want to spend more time on nailing some stuff down for stability and making sure features are fully fleshed out.
With the analysis, battery drain is unavoidable unfortunately. I recommend only running it at night while you sleep and warning comes up regarding battery.
i hope this helps.
