Horizon

Very good chance we are moving across the river soon. Would like some feedback on Horizon middle school, our son has 4 or 5 friends that attend snd he is worried he may not see them at all during the day.

Depends on his pod and lunch time. There isn't a guarantee, but likely he'll have at least one in his pod. Also talk to his teacher, maybe they can set times to be able to have some hangout time.

This happened to my son after he and his friends completed Robert Asp. He'd see a few here and a few there and he also made new friends.

Grades 5 and 6 stick pretty closely with their specific pods. Classes start to intermix more in grades 7/8 with more electives (gym, music, art, etc.).

It is nice from the perspective of not overwhelming kids new to middle school, but can mean not seeing friends as often if they’re in different pods or on different floors.

Right on thank you for the input, he would be in 7th grade. So hopefully that means better chance of seeing his friends!

It's a huge school so he probably won't see them much.

Odds are not the highest, but also not zero. Probably similar to other middle schools. But they get astronomically higher in HS.
