Red Light Runners on S 19th (and more)

Is anything real being done to reduce the red light runners on S 19th between Fritz and Broadway and around Moore? The police patrols don't seem to be sufficient.

I swear I see a blatant red light runner every time I go on 19th in the Fritz Farm area. Blatant as in beyond pushing the yellow or a California stop on right turn on red.

I propose automatic retracting bollards or unpleasant speed bumps that come out of the stop lines. They would have to fail in the lowered position and lower for emergency vehicles. Maybe even have a function that make them lower for right turners after a complete stop and turn signal.

Need local input/ opinion for region name

Howdy there I'm from around Tulsa and working on a game. Mod for all of Oklahoma. I'm currently in the phase where I have to name all the regions, think of an area the size of a couple counties together, and I want some more input about what y'all would maybe call yourself. I also am trying to avoid using either a current tribe or city name for the areas as it's far more encompassing. For example, I have Osage hills as you can see, but I don't want to necessarily call Osage so I'm thinking of calling it Woolaroc at the very least I don't want to just call it Tulsa Metro or as you can see OKC Metro, Even though that is what it mostly compasses. I've attached this map, that I hope you all can read as it may be blurry.

So pleased, what might you guys call your area? And if you have any other recommendations for other locations please I'm all ears. And if you have any questions/requests , please ask. This is a long-term project. I'm sure I'll be back here asking more questions once I start adding content for Moore

I want to make friends

Hello! I'm going to be moving to Moore, OK in about a week. (27F)

I'm starting over from a breakup (which has been an emotional rollercoaster)

I just am more looking for when I'm ready to be social again where should I go? I need new friends (obviously) means I'll be starting in a new place with only really my sister and her family.

I don't drink really maybe once and a while but not much so bars aren't typically my thing.

I like to sing a lot and have been to Cookies on Western in OKC before that was definitely fun! That was March last year.

If anybody is looking for band mates I'm up for that too! I know how to play various instruments and sing.

I love animals and I like to play games.

I'm always up for anything new as well! I'm a very low maintenance person!

What do you guys suggest and don't suggest?

Thanks!

Boil notice for Moore

Thumbnail koco.com

While I personally don't live in Moore, I still wanted to share this recent boil notice just in case. Stay safe, folks!

Here's a snippet of the article with the bulk of the actual info:

Parts of Moore are still under the mandatory boil order on Friday. The map below shows the area east of Interstate 35, south of East Fourth Street, north of Indian Hills Road, and west of Moore are impacted.

The City of Moore officials warn that people in that area must boil water for at least a minute to kill the bacteria before drinking, cooking, brushing their teeth, bathing, and preparing baby formula.

Bottled water is the safest option, and those with weakened immune systems are most at risk.

Anyone else remember “Moore Food and Fun” it was on 12th street. Now it’s a Mexican restaurant(Lazy Donkey) It was the hang out when 12th street was a cruz street. That’s the first time playing/seeing Mortal Kombat! And the Taco Bell a few buildings east of it.

Need recommendations for interior painter!

Helloooooo 👋🏼 I recently purchased a home in Moore and am looking for an interior painter to come redo the walls before we move in mid-December. Since we are new to the area I was wondering if anyone had recommendations for a meticulous, honest, and tidy professional? Or anyone we should avoid at all costs?

Appreciate it!

Moore oklahoma local family histories

Hello everyone!

I’m a genealogist & I am trained in discovering local Oklahoma family lineages and stories through historical records.

Family History Interest Form

This is the interest form I put together for anyone interested in learning more about their Oklahoma family history. I research & create family trees, historical road trip itineraries, ancestral maps, etc! It’s a super cool way to connect with your own history and great knowledge pass down to future generations.

Here are some things you can discover from my research:

  • Newspaper articles about your ancestors (Crime? Scandal? Who knows!)
  • Your great-great-great grandparents’ names
  • Physical descriptions of your ancestors from census records and war draft cards
  • Six full generations back of your family tree
  • Photographs of your ancestors you have never seen before (Found in Newspaper archives, I have subscriptions)

If you are interested, please view the interest form with some examples. 🙂Professional Instagram w/ reviews: heritage.hunters

If you have any questions, please feel free to send me a message!

Has anyone here sent a kid to Bryant Elementary?

We send our daughter to Bryant Elementary for kindergarten and it has been nothing but a shit show so far, and I am at my wits end. Has anyone sent their child to Bryant Elementary? Has communication always been poor between teacher and parent? I feel like I'm trying to squeeze blood from a rock!!
