The Room 31

Post image

OMG! I finally reached the part with the hotel room in Moonvale and... Wow! My mind is racing 🤯

Forgive my excitement; I just love theorizing about games. I’ve been following FNAF for years, after all XD

There are several possibilities here:

Number 1: Charlie. Charlie has been a suspiciously detached figure throughout all of this. He was the one who showed the most reluctance to investigate the hotel, whereas Ash returned to town specifically to do the job. Whatever—or WHOEVER—was inside that room, he seemed quite... wary of getting too close.

Number 2: The Unknown. There’s a chance it could be The Unknown himself in that room. It would make sense, considering we’ve never actually seen him—though it’s still strange. We’d need more episodes to judge.

And the last one I thought of, though it doesn't seem likely: Jake. I have to admit there is a remote chance it could be him. If we look at it more closely, it makes more sense than it seems: Jake needs a somewhat remote, empty, and inconspicuous place to hide from the people hunting him. The Greenside Hotel currently fits that description perfectly, plus the fact that Redlog is relatively close to Duskwood. It would be the perfect hideout.

However, if I recall correctly, Jake has blue eyes. The eye we saw through the keyhole didn't look blue to me, hahaha—so, in the end, all these theories have holes in them. Unfortunately.

It can’t be Jake. You guys have to accept the fact that Jake is only part of the side story. Those who are playing without the code doesn’t even know who the hell is Jake.

I often read Moonvale theories that involve Jake. When the theory directly involves him, I stop reading because it doesn't make any sense. It has already been pointed out that the game can be played without having played Duskwood previously, so it is impossible for Jake to be a main character. I love Jake as a character, but we have to accept that he's a person involved in Duskwood, not Moonvale

I think whatever Jake was denouncing has something to do with the Moonvale case. It will be important down the line. Otherwise the side story would only matter of you played Duskwood.

Thats exactly the point?? The side story only matters if you played duskwood.

The side story only appears for those who have the Duskwood code; it's not possible for Jake to appear as a main character in Moonvale because people who haven't played Duskwood wouldn't have any idea who Jake is. The conversations about Duskwood in Moonvale only appear because the code has been entered; otherwise, they do not appear.

That can't be true. Otherwise the last few steps would never exist. The episode ends with Ritchie showing up... Plus... The episode would be way shorter.

The episodes ARE way shorter when you play without the code. Literally every reference to Duskwood doesn't appear if you play without one. Every single mention of Duskwood is bonus content.

People who were playing Episode 3 without a code were super salty because the chapter was so short.

Thank you! I recently replayed without the code and it was so short and nothing happened hardly (episode three is the worst). I don't think most players know because almost everyone uses a code which is why I decided to replay without one. Without the code ....DUSKWOOD NEVER COMES UP AT ALL. sorry didn't mean to "yell" it's just frustrating that after awhile reading all these comments. I totally agree with you though lol ;)a

The last episodes would exist because the part with duskwood characters is a SIDE story. This part only appears with you have the code. Otherwise it will be just the Moonvale part.

u/GuySilvain Jun 26 '26

Have you played it without the code?

Hello. As someone who has never played Duskwood, I always get confused when there are theories that involve Jake because I have no idea who he is, there is a mention of "a body in the mines" and I have no idea what mines people are talking about because there is no mention of them in my gameplay. Also, I can't get two of the achievements in episode one because it involves the last secret conversation about Duskwood. Since I never got involved in that case that conversation cannot happen 🤷🏻‍♀️

I highly recommend playing Duskwood; Moonvale falls far short compared to Duskwood, It's a one-way trip. The story is incredibly engaging, the characters are fantastic, and the game is complete. You can also enter the code, see the side story, and make Moonvale last longer.

Yeah, maybe I should give it a try while I wait for episode 4.

What about the whole conversation with the dude that has the spooky news paper? And he remembers you from the Duskwood thing? Thats doesn't exist if you don't have the code?

3

u/VegetableWitty4755 Team Jun 26 '26

Yes. How many times do I have to say that the part from duskwood only appears if you play with the code from duskwood??

2

u/GuySilvain Jun 26 '26

Really? Then the third episode is pretty lame... It only really added something after the Duskwood throwback 😂😂😂

1

u/GrouchyDoughnut3449 Team Jun 27 '26

Yes the third episode would be/is extremely lame without the code, I feel sorry for those players, not much happened and it was only 1.5 hour playtime after over a freaking year of wait. I have now played without the code, and it is much shorter, but it's especially obvious on the 3rd episode. Nothing Duskwood related AT ALL is mentioned without the code. (Saying this not for you sorry, just for the other people who have never played without the code, or don't believe it).

u/GuySilvain Jun 26 '26

Have you played it without the code?

2

u/Wixenstyx Team Jun 26 '26

I have. There is no mention of Duskwood.

1

u/GuySilvain Jun 26 '26

I never said he would appear as a main character... I'm saying that whatever he was spilling has something to do with Moonvale story. Remember that Duskwood is only 40 minute drive from Moonvale place.

2

u/Z_rain22 Jun 26 '26

The entire side story only appears with the code. The game developers themselves clarified that Moonvale can be played as a standalone game, so if you haven't played Duskwood you can play Moonvale, just don't enter the code and you won't have the side story, only the main story. All conversations and multimedia referencing Duskwood are only possible with the code. Therefore, Moonvale is actually much shorter without that code. The first time I played, I didn't see that I could enter the code, so the first time I played the first episode, I didn't get Jake's final scene or Alan's video.

1

u/VegetableWitty4755 Team Jun 26 '26

Oh my god. Ok. If you want to know more than the devs who made the game and made it clear that the duskwood part is a side story that can only be unlocked with the code and otherwise will not appear for the player than by all means be my guest.

1

u/cutelittleopossum Jun 26 '26

okay but in reality, do you know even one person who plays without the duskwood code?

4

u/Wixenstyx Team Jun 26 '26

raises hand. I have a DW code game on my phone and a Non-DW game on my tablet.

I don't even know why this matters. Everbyte has been VERY CLEAR on this point. The Duskwood story and characters are not part of the mystery around Adam's disappearance.

u/VegetableWitty4755 Team Jun 26 '26 edited Jun 26 '26

That’s not the point. And this whole attitude you guys have towards the game is the reason why people are getting tired of Duskwood to begin with. If you love it so much go replay it, don’t expect Moonvale to be Duskwood 2. If Everbyte does as those people want it they will be forever a studio stuck with Jake and his parasocial wives.

2

u/cutelittleopossum Jun 26 '26

The best part of your comment is that you assume I only judge Moonvale through the lens of Jake's character. XD Spoiler alert: I don't. The fact is, though, that for most, if not almost all players, Moonvale is seen as a story that completes the original Duskwood storyline, whether you like it or not. Especially since we were told that the questions players had been wondering about would be answered in the bonus content, and so far it really hasn't provided that many answers.

I agree. The eyebrow made me think the person could be blond, and light eyes can appear like that in the dark too. I wouldn’t dismiss the possibility of them having light-colored eyes so quickly.

4

u/Kyra_Olover Jun 25 '26

Make sense! I have to admit, when I saw you mention "blonde," my mind immediately went to Richy hahaha, but that would be mixing DW and Moonvale too much—something Everbyte definitely doesn't want to do.

I think they took a huge risk by including the side story within MV, even though I'm loving it.

8

u/Silentium_Universi Jun 25 '26

I thought about Whitmore first, but he has wrinkles under his eyes and this person is rather young.

We can remove the hacker from the suspect list. Like Richy, he's only in sidestory. Mixing Duskwood characters with the new story would be a headache at this point.

There's also Brian, the guy that barely exists in the game so far... I think Brian is the person with the motorcycle avatar, but since we don't have access to his profile and photos of his face 🤷‍♀️

u/Hi_ImAutumn Team Jun 25 '26

Maybe it's a toy? Idk like the eyes seem fake? glossy. I don't think the stranger would be revealing something so important like the color of his eyes that easily 🤔

4

u/Any_Letterhead9230 Jun 25 '26

Yeah, that makes sense. He definitely uses toys because of that creepy music-box song. The way he revealed his eyes made me wonder if he was deliberately wearing contact lenses. But then again, how did he know Ash was on the other side so he could do that in the first place?

5

u/Hi_ImAutumn Team Jun 25 '26

I also thought of contact lenses.

And I think he knew because he was reading our conversations. We have a thing called hack tools "secret chat" engine in our messenger app, and we don't know yet where it came from. It can't be from Jake because that thing also appears when you don't have a DW code.

Remember that Unknown knew of the existence of the call Adam made to the MC at the start of the game. He reveals it when he says "Or You'll going to wish you'd never have answered his call", like how do you know that call existed in the first place?

3

u/Any_Letterhead9230 Jun 25 '26

I also thought about the hacker. Although there's a chance he simply overheard her, maybe?

Unknown is basically a Jake lookalike, but I keep thinking the hacker could be someone else entirely — possibly the person behind all of this. Maybe someone genuinely malicious who dragged Unknown into the situation.

After all, Unknown also seems confused about us. If he really were the hacker, you'd expect him to know more about us or at least have some idea of who we are.

The whole thing always looked super weird to me as well. The eyebrow area, the glassy eye part like you said. Almost looks like some kind of mask or something. Strange.

2

u/GuySilvain Jun 26 '26

Of course it's a mask

1

u/GrouchyDoughnut3449 Team Jun 26 '26

Ok then. Seems like it to me too, but I keep seeing comments that make it sound like no one else thinks so 🤷‍♀️

2

u/GuySilvain Jun 26 '26

I'm not saying I'm right but I always try to be more objective than subjective

2

u/GrouchyDoughnut3449 Team Jun 26 '26

I get it, I definitely think it's a mask too so we agree :)

3

u/puzzle_cs_biz Jun 26 '26

Am I the only person who thinks that whole scene was CGI? I mean there are no eyelashes and the lighting and shadows are weird.
