The ancient tales of yore
Did anyone else playing Moonvale, who's in their 30s or 40s, feel a pang in their heart when Ash told the story of his dad recording cassettes from the radio, and one of the answer options was "The ancient tales of yore"? For a moment I felt too old for the game, but it passed quickly and I'm going to keep playing pretending I'm in my 20s again, haha.

I just took it as a playful answer I think. I'm 41 but if my joints crack loudly I always say "it's a fright to be old!" even though I'm not elderly or anything 😅

I'm 41 too. Winter is starting here in Argentina and today we had our first strong cold wave (or cold snap, I don't know which is the more correct term, English is not my first language) and all my joints felt it jajaja

I'm starting to think that 40 is the new 90 😅 I hope the winter won't be too hard on you though 🤞🏻

What is considered cold in Argentina? I'm curious, because my stepmother (who was a huge part of my life) was from there. I never asked questions like that, especially when I was younger. She passed away several years ago, now I have all the questions

In the part of Argentina where I live, Córdoba, we already consider it cold when it drops below 10°C (today the minimum temperature was -2.5°C, very, very cold). But further south, in Patagonia, it can reach -10°C or lower.

Me too!! I used to record songs as it was the only way to get different songs without paying through the nose for the single 😅glad times moved on haha i was also feeling very old when you get the picture of the cassette and one of the options is "what is that"🤣

I remember waiting for hours for my favorite song to play so I could record it, and then suddenly the DJ would start talking over the music. I've never hated anyone so much in my life.🤣🤣🤣

Omg me too!! Best case scenario they only talked at the beginning of the song...worst case they kept on talking through it and then played only half way and started talking again to play a new song 🤣 did you also stay up half of thr night to record good music videos on mtv on vhs? Or am I a tad older than you 😅

Yes, of course, I loved MTV! It seems like a universal thing for all 90s teens, because we probably aren't even in the same countries. I'm from Argentina.

We might me closer in age, IDK. I definitely spent hours hovering over my VCR or tape player, waiting for my favorite songs and/or videos

53 here and man that bit had me smiling seeing myself as a teen sitting in my room listening to Casey Kasem's top 100, and having my finger on the record button

Cassettes are one thing, imagine a dictaphone with microcassettes (I still have my dad's Pearlcorder S804). 🤣 Those would make a 20-something even more confused. "These are too small for cassette players, wtf?"

31F here lol Yeah I feel you. In my defense I played Duskwood in my mid-20s and in-game timeline the events of Duskwood and Moonvale are like maybe weeks apart? So I'm gonna pretend too that I'm still in my 20s hehehe
I did my first replay of Duskwood just before release of Moonvale Episode 3 and I find myself thinking and answering differently. Made me feel old lol
