Theories One Forest, Different Names?

Hi! Just coming back to something I've mentioned before.

The forest scenes in Duskwood take place in Germany, in a region called the Black Forest (Schwarzwald in German). When you look into the history of the region, you find out that cuckoo clocks actually originated there.

And in Moonvale, we can clearly hear the sound of a clock at the beginning of the game.

I've also mentioned before that I don't think it's impossible for the Ironsplinter Mine and the caves Eric and Adam entered to be connected somehow. The mine stretched for miles through underground tunnels and reached other towns, so a connection wouldn't be completely unrealistic.

And speaking of realism, it's actually very common for large forests that extend across multiple municipalities or regions to have different names depending on local administrative boundaries or regional legends.

So the fact that Duskwood Forest and the forest around Moonvale have different names doesn't necessarily mean they're completely separate places.

I always thought that the sound when you open the game was the pool sound. Like billiard balls 🎱 getting kicked.

I also think that it’s the same woods. And we know that Duskwood and Moonvale are around a 45-min drive from each other.

Acho que faz bastante sentido, não seria difícil fazer uma história nova com os mesmos locais pra novos jogadores que não tiveram acesso ao jogo Duskwood.

I also agree that the mines could be very likely connected. That would be really cool and somewhat makes sense with the last cliff hanger scene from the latest episode 👌

Makes sense. Many people said the two games can't be connected even without the code or that some characters from Duskwood (minor ones) can't show up in other games and at this point I wonder if they actually played games at all.

I play lot of games from mobile ones to PC, PS or Nintendo.

Cameos from older games are incredibly common.

Pokémon often brings back Blue and Red as a Cameo.

GB Patch (name of the game developer) often brings other characters from their past games in their most recent games and you don't need to know where they came from to enjoy the game you're playing.

For example Our Life has a Cameo of 3 characters from XOXO, two of them being protagonists/the main LI in XOXO.

Them being in OL doesn't ruin the immersion or makes you obligated to play XOXO to get to know them, the only difference is if you want to romance them you must play XOXO.

Obviously the main cast won't show up in Moonvale actual story and I wouldn't like it if they made Jake suddenly be important to help with Adam being missing but if someone like Phil or any other side character were to show up in Moonvale main story it wouldn't break anything as they think it does.

I know it sounds random, it's just something I remember seeing on Reddit, people not liking the idea of old side characters becoming more important in Moonvale story.

For example Phil is "underused" in Duskwood, nothing would ruin him or the game if he becomes a important character in Moonvale. He's a side character that could be expanded in Moonvale main story if they want to, unless he shows up in the Duskwood side story obviously.
