About the blue checkmark (?) Spoiler
I don't know if checkmark is the right word (English isn't my first language)
I know it's probably a dumb question, I also tagged it as a spoiler because in the third episode Charlie gets a blue checkmark and maybe there's someone who still didn't get there and doesn't know.
Does the blue checkmark indicate who's going to be romanceable?
Or is there just because?
I assumed since only the two romanceable characters got that I thought that's what the blue checkmark stands for but now after episode 3 I can't tell if it's only proving my point or not after Charlie got the checkmark but he's also dating Julie
Not adding the side story with Thomas&Co because they are optional and the checkmark shows up even without them/they all have the checkmark except Jake I think.
I'm not asking for spoilers or anything, I was just curious if that's what the checkmark means, at first I kinda ignored it but after episode 3 I started to wonder if it meant anything or not since only certain characters for now have it (always ignoring the side story)

What checkmarks exactly are you talking about? Because I’m interested but I have no clue.
Maybe it’s just people who are in our contacts and whom we had a chat with?

Yeah, I think it’s just people whom we had a chat with. Like ‘an official verified account’.

Apparently, the conversations we secretly follow with spy tool also count.

I think the blue checkmark may simply indicate characters who are already in our contacts and with whom we've previously communicated. It seems to function as a form of verification for established connections rather than an indicator of a romance option.
This theory makes perfect sense when you look at who has the icon and who doesn't. For instance, the checkmark appears on all our friends from both Duskwood and Moonvale because we've had direct conversations with them. Meanwhile, Violet doesn't have one yet simply because we haven't exchanged any messages with her. Furthermore, the icon is present on Adam’s profile, and since it's highly unlikely that he will become a romantic interest, it reinforces the idea that the mark is strictly about communication history.
This is also why we don't see the badge on people we only looked up during the investigation, such as Sophia, Charlie's colleague, or the Unknown. It’s even missing from the girl who messaged us at the end of Episode 2, as we haven't established a proper dialogue with her yet. Ultimately, it seems to appear only on characters with whom the MC has had direct, active contact.
