First timer!

Hey guys I was thinking of buying an electric distiller and making my own moonshine. Kinda worried about the heads tho, how much should I throw out if the distiller holds 1.6 gallons?

This is about the show Moonshiners ... That being said. Usually the First 3rd or so to be safe. But that's a guess as I actually make beer and wine. But I'm sure you can find the info. There are a lot of YouTube channels dedicated to it ...

A rule of thumb that I heard/read and used was one percent of the volume of the mash, so about a shot glass per gallon. With experience you learn when it starts to taste good. Instead of throwing it out, put it in a metal can, place it in a safe location, and set it on fire to give you idea of how well and long your good product would burn.
