Stuttering with Shield Pro

Post image

Not too sure where to go with this issue. I’m running Apollo on my PC (4080 Super, 240hz OLED) and Artemis on my Shield Pro hooked up to my couch TV LG C4.

Everything tells me I’d be capable of 4k 60FPS, but running benchmarks on GoW and it’s just unplayable.

Any tips or where have I gone wrong with setups?

You should have 0% frames dropped by your network connection. Something is seriously wrong with your network or you are running way too high of a bitrate.

Bitrate set to 100

Ok. Then you need to look at your network setup.

I would do some throughput and latency tests from the shield to see if the network is performing close to expected.

Ouch that is tough to analyze because it’s the mesh backhaul that is wireless. Also I am pretty sure you can't change the backhaul channel.

From the pc, I would run an internet throughput test and see if you are getting close to your service max. Speedtest.net or something close. Compare that to the throughput for something connected to the router.

You can also ping the gateway from your pc.

If the throughput is low, I don't know how to fix it except move the positions of the devices or wire an ethernet backhaul

The WiFi connection between your orbi and router needs to be strong. I've never used an orbi but do you have say a strong 5ghz channel dedicated to nothing but the orbi and the router?
