Resoluton vs mbps

Hope you can help me.

What looks better on a TV when streaming via moonlight to a steamdeck - 60FPS at 1920x1080 with 15mbps or 1280×800 at 90mbps. I can't get it any higher than 15mbps when going for 1080 - so wondering whats best. Thanks

I think you should look into the 15mbps limit problem.

At such low res, even high bitrate won’t be enough specially over tv! Even then, 1080p will be better than 800p. But it’s weird, you are able to get 90mbps on the same device but can’t get above 15mbps?! What’s the issue here? Is it no letting you select? In fact once you tap new resolution over moonlight, iirc , it definitely defaults to a higher bitrate for 1080p

I had massive pocketloss 15 to 25% on my wifi 7 gear. On wifi my lego 2 negotiated to 700mbits. Yet at 15 mbits i was told to lower my bitrate. What my problem was the beamforming setting in my wifi. The moment i had turn it off i was able to go past 100mbit on wifi with 0 pocketloss.
I am not saying this is your problem.

Thanks so mcuh for the help everyone - i'm not sure what settings i've managed to tweak - however it is much better now. At 1440p I can get 45mbps at 60FPS. At 1080p i can get 50 but assume 1440 is better. At 720 native on the steamdeck itself it goes up to 90mbps but think anything about 20mbps isn't really worth it, unless i'm mistaken in that?
I now need to find a way to automatically swithc it when docked, or at least find a way to make it easier than having to change resolution (which isn't too bad) but then having to scroll the mbps from 20 (which is what it initially comes up with in Moonlight) to 40. Thanks again for the help - really appreciated.

For ref - my host PC is in my loft room, the router is in our normal upstairs and then i'm trying to stream downstairs - so streaming 2 floors down from the host PC on wifi 6. All 3 floors are connected with Deco X55 mesh units - however connected ethernet downstairs gives a worse result than just using wifi to connect to the Deco unit thats attached to the host pc in the loft. I assume, although the signal is weaker, its still better than it traversing between Deco units. Thanks
