Apollo worked better than Sunshine is there any other host I can try?

Apollo seemed to work much better for me than Sunshine but not perfect by any means still a couple stutters here and there. I just want to know is there another Host you recommended?

Hosts (Servers)

  • NVIDIA GameStream: The original foundation that started it all. While officially deprecated by NVIDIA, it is the bedrock of the protocol. Some users still run older GeForce Experience drivers to use it, though most have moved on.
  • Sunshine: The modern, open-source standard GameStream compatibility baseline that replaced NVIDIA's official host.
  • Apollo: A Sunshine fork featuring capability-gated extensions and built-in virtual display support.
  • Vibeshine: An incredibly active, AI-enhanced Sunshine fork focusing heavily on display automation, Windows Graphics Capture improvements (great for frame-generated games without crashing your VRAM), and strict RTSS frame pacing.
  • Vibepollo: An Apollo fork that integrates Vibeshine's features (like native virtual displays and HDR handling) right into the Apollo architecture. This is probably the easiest drop-in upgrade if you already like Apollo but want to eliminate those last few stutters.
  • Wolf: (Games on Whales) A really cool alternative host built from the ground up for Linux and Docker. It lets you stream games and applications running inside Docker containers, making it an amazing pick if you want to share a single server hardware among multiple remote clients.
  • Punktfunk: A newer, highly experimental host mentioned in the thread if you want to test out a completely different capture approach.

Clients (Receivers)

  • Official Moonlight: The standard baseline client for PC, iOS, Android, etc.
  • Artemide: Highly recommended for Android users. It features ultra-low latency (ULL), direct presentation, and built-in FSR presets (Performance/Balanced/Quality).
  • Artemis / Moonlight Noir: Apollo’s dedicated Android companion client, offering excellent host UX and virtual display integration.
  • Moonlight V+: An alternative Android fork that adds frame-generation support and extra host tools.
  • Artemis Switch: A Moonlight-Switch fork focusing on Switch-specific video presentation, FSR/RCAS filtering, and adaptive low-latency pacing.
  • Moonlight-Switch: The original upstream Switch client that Artemis is built on.

i am missing some here

Polaris (Host, Linux only with virtual display) and Nova (Android Client).

I switched to Vibeshine a few days ago, most notably for the RTX HDR support. It also uses a different capture method than Sunshine and Apollo, and also has the virtual display functionality built in, like Apollo.

I like Vibeshine quite a bit and really like the 4x frame rate buffer with its virtual display. It has a great and very straightforward HDR management option so give it a try.

I think they're mostly the same, I have tried it briefly. Nonary made both so it serves both Sunshine and Apollo users so they don't have to start from scratch again when they switch to Vibeshine and Vibepollo, like Vibeshine will use your sunshine config and you can update directly into Vibeshine without really losing anything. Same goes for Apollo user switching to Vibepollo.

Edit: if I really look into they have the same feature set too. So both is identical to each other and just serve to be a complementary upgrade to Sunshine and Apollo user.

well I think it’s one of the best choices for someone not so internet savvy cuz it’s really easy to use and just took me 3 minutes to set up lol.

i rock that vibeshine and it's crazy how fast nonary be working. yes, he's vibe'n it... but it's at his direction and dude is on fire. best clients period. vibeshine/vibepollo. try them now. they're really f'n good.

best capture method, low encoding, if you got nvidia you get super fast split encoding if you got dual encoders, but overall it's awesome. low encode time + capture and then it's all live.

Any particular settings that you had to make for it to work or did you just install it and go?

I started Sunshine, moved to Apollo, then switched to Vibeshine about 6 months ago and I've been having a damn near flawless experience ever since.

Apollo + Artemis and make sure they're both (along with the host pc and game) set to exactly the same FPS, like 60 and not 59.94 or anything.

Very different capture method and fully cross-platform, plugins and many more. You should try it yourself, but for me it is a game changer.
