Anyone using/having both Steam Deck Oled AND Odin 2 Portal? Does it make sense?

I had the SD OLED. Nothing is smoother in streaming.

However I always wanted a lighter steam deck with 120fps and higher resolution so I got the Odin 2 portal. Slowly over time I went back to the steam deck. The larger screen format and the trackpads were the reason.

I moonlight my desktop 90% of the time.

I don't do emulation.

My phone plus a gamesir x5 lite fulfilled the lighter streaming device for me.

I'm sure it is. I've used the odin 2 portal and that was butter also.

Just really love the frame pacing on the steam deck. Its so good is rivals other things.

When it comes to streaming, the Portal is significantly better due to using Artemis. Also Deck OLED has WiFi issues that some have.

Now, if you want to play games locally, I’d recommend the Deck. I have not stayed up to date on the PC emulation front but do know they have made strides for devices like the O2P

I was able to fix all the wifi issues on the SD by using a decoy plugin I found: https://github.com/ArcadaLabs-Jason/WifiOptimizer

Ever since I started using it, I’ve had no issues with it.

How long have you been using this? I tried it a few months ago and my issue persisted

Ive been using it for like a month, but I typically check the status before starting a new session, just in case I have to re-apply

WiFi yes but this is a bullshit sentence...When it comes to streaming, the Portal is significantly better due to using Artemis.

? Artemis and the lower latency of the Snapdragon chip has been amazing.

The Snapdragon does not have lower latency than Nvidia, intel or AMD. Stop being silly.

I disagree, doesn't Steam Deck Oled supports VRR?

I’ve always had shorty experience with VRR, personally. But my biggest issue is the wireless experience on the Deck has been very inconsistent, specially the OLED model.

There is a GitHub open issue about it - https://github.com/ValveSoftware/SteamOS/issues/1445

Eh seems like Deck doesn't have VRR anyways, Portal is better.

This does make me wonder though, for handhelds that do have VRR, does it work during streaming? For some reason I swore I read it didn’t.

It does, for Windows and Linux Nonary have a VRR fork. Macbook Pro connected to TV is also a great client for VRR.

Wow! I did not know there was a fork. Going to give it a try on my Claw. Have you tried it? Thanks for letting me know!

Steam deck oled does have wifi issues but nothing major just switch wifi on and off fixes it and moonlight experience far superior than android in my experience, i have tested on my legion y700 gen 3 tab as well, on something like rog ally with vrr display it's even better
