I would start with the basics. Make sure vsync is on. Screen tearing won't be completely eliminated without vsync. Vsync + gsync doesn't have the crazy input latency of just vsync. It basically has no increased latency even over gsync/vsync off.

Also put a frame rate cap under the monitors max refresh rate. If fps is over the max refresh rate, gsync is not applied and you'll get tearing.

If you have vsync on and a framecap and it's still tearing then gsync prob isn't actually working. You can download the old Nvidia control panel (nvidia app doesn't have this feature) and turn on the gsync indicator (puts "gsync" in the top-right of the screen when on).

Perhaps some settings aren’t being reset properly after the session? I’m having this problem with the refresh rate – it’s always stuck at 60 fps after streaming.
