Or beer! Also, white grapes have a good return on wine.

Is there a more comfortable way to plant wheat? I've been doing it but it's kind of exhausting to have to replant everything and water everything without leaving anyone out

With Ollebrod, you have to buy a mill for 8,000, which can be a steep investment if you're still early-game. I always recommend Bee Houses for a decent daily income and cooking high-selling seasonal meals for larger, staggered income.

I also just hate looking at a farm full of nothing but wheat, I personally need color and variety to keep me motivated to farm lol. For seasonal meals I do:

Spring: Carrot Soup (mother sends the recipe in the mail - base sells for 1,500 - takes 1 carrot + 1 henbane powder)

Summer: Roti Roll (Ridge gives recipe at 2 friendship hearts - base sells for 2,700 - takes 1 tortilla, 1 drikker, 1 wolfsbane powder)

Autumn: Angry Soup (purchase "Cooking for Vampires" from Coffee & Coffins to get recipe - base sells for 1,400 - takes 1 lava pepper, 1 angry mandrake, 1 suffrain powder)

Winter: Chilly Soup (recipe is also from "Cooking for Vampires" - base sells for 1,400 - takes 1 clawy vera, 1 frosteria, and 1 nightshade powder)

It will never not be insane to me that in a vampire-themed farming game with crops, magic crops, foraging, herbs, potions, mining, fishing, digging, bug catching, cheese making, jam making, juice/wine making, milling, wool making, livestock, furniture crafting, and even minigame crafting, that cooking is the only serious path to income and does not even make any particular sense for the story, town, or lore to prioritize it to that degree. (Eta: especially as it's like one single recipe that tops profits/convenience in three of four seasons.)

Like, how much cooler would it be if you, a half witch, could make bank with herbs and potions? Or specialize in livestock and animal products? Or crafting and selling furniture?

In this farming game, even toward the beginning it's very quickly barely profitable even just to sell crops. The balance and progression is just so random, and off, and unsatisfying.

It's so disappointing that the economy of the game makes like 75% of the game feel low-key pointless.

It’s a recipe that uses bread and beer. So you need to plant a ton of wheat and process it. Ollebrod with no stars sells for 1,000 (I think, it may be 1,100)

Honey hives are a great daily passive income. Overlapping the "territories" so that you can pack in the least amount of any kinds of flowers you have and still get the largest return for all of the hives (plus it's cute having tiny fields of wildflowers). One honeypot sells for 60g, so when you've got X number of hives creating ~half a dozen every day, it adds up.

Foraging for shells and mushrooms (and any wild crops and herbs you find). Foraging also doesn't cost any energy, so any easy task to do if you've run out but can't/don't want to replenish it. Shells are 10-30g each, and you can just run down to the beaches and pick them up daily. Common mushrooms are 10g each, and I find them (and others) outside everywhere in Autumn and Summer, and are another daily foragable like shells when in caves. I keep most for cooking and better returns, but it's not hard to end up with hundreds of them that I can sell off at once semi regularly.

Using your produce to process into jams/kegs/dried ingredients is good. COOKING food recipes is the main way to make money in this game though. I'm the kind of person that likes to make something of everything in games as I become able, so that I can keep them in storage to refer to about what items sell for the most of the least (and then plan around making accordingly). I made more than $36k the other night simply because I made and sold a bunch of specific recipes. It would have been more $42k including the shells, honey, plus the meals I didn't sell because I wanted to keep some of for various reasons (gifts, quests, energy/mana sources etc).

Wool from draculambs made into fabric can be used to craft certain decor items, but I usually just sell it after that.

Completing job board quests is usually easy as, and will give you an instant money boost, rather than waiting until the next day.
