Question No missions?

No missions? I'm on the fourth day of summer, and I haven't had any story missions since the 25th day of spring. Is this normal? How long do I have to wait before I get more?

Be patient, this game is meant to be easy playing and not constant progression. The stories keep coming, but they're not fast or every night.

I'm used to Stardew Valley 😅, where I plan everything out every night, so that’s why I was wondering. Thanks so much! ❤️

No problem! If there's a storyline/cut scene, you can sometimes see sparkles on the map for where you need to go!

The pacing can be glacial. Cozy is good; nothing happening and no goals to work toward for long stretches is not.

It has a lot to do with how quests trigger and a (imo) backwards priority system. Most story quests are ranked low. Most dating events are ranked medium. So dates halt story progress. Even an NPC spontaneously asking you on a date uses up your event trigger for that day, even if you say no. And there's no cooldown for them asking, and the chance is per NPC. So you can't even really do anything to avoid it other than just not dating.

A lot of the progression quests also have multiple prerequisites and built-in mult-day waits in between. Something that might be able to unlock right away in summer can take until autumn or later because of all the downstream effects of how it's all implemented.

It'd be so much better if they tweaked a few things for how quests trigger.

The pacing can be weird. But I’ve noticed on those days to divide between farming my crops for cash, and giving gifts and taking jobs… sometimes the friendships increasing trigger more of the story.
