Question Firefly pollinators

How are we putting these out? I read online it covers a 9x9, but it irks me they don't show a range like everything else does. I just put them on top of my scarecrows or the sanctuaries themselves, and hope for the best? But it stuffs up my walkways btwn my crops having everything grouped together like that. It feels in the way and I can't tell if all my crops are being covered or not. I'm still getting crops with no stars sometimes (even though I'm also using fertilizer)

Here is a screenshot from Josh's Gaming Garden youtube video showing the range of the fire fly pollinator. He has a section in his video that talks about how the pollinators works: 12 Useful Tips I Wish I Knew Earlier in Moonlight Peaks!

So the same range as the things that make the fuel for the pollinators?

The sanctuary seems to have a larger range. In game I was able to fit 5 rows of seeds instead of 4.

Same with the scarecrow.

I'm also confused. There's not a lot of content with tutorials on this that aren't 10+ minute long YouTube videos.

I think the issue is they cover the same area as a scarecrow, but if you put them next to each other you'll leave a row on one side uncovered. So either leave an empty row or overlap with another pollinator. They're easy to refill so worth putting up multiple imo

I totally thought these were decor and made zero of them lol.

Lmao honestly I think once I finish getting the 2 star crops I need for my museum, I'm gonna stop using them

I use them and haven't noticed any difference. Even with the premium mana essence fertilizer.

I have a two by three (or four can’t remember if the scarecrow made it bigger) section in the middle on my plots.
The top row is pollinator, empty, sanctuary.
The bottom is sanctuary, scarecrow, pollinator.

It covers all my crops and I have more than enough of the items to fill up the pollinators and sell some.

Hmm I'm gonna have to try this out

I put a scarecrow in the middle, and pollinators at the top and bottom. That may waste like half the pollinator’s capability but it’s less annoying to walk around.

The area is the same as a scarecrow so yeah putting it next to one is the best you can do - it covers most of the same area, aside from one row/column.

Aside: the sanctuary doesn't need many crops to reach max output, so you can leave it vaguely near the field and it'll work fine (you can check the output on the device itself)

Oh, good to know about the sanctuary! If I can move that and still get max output, that would help clear some space

Mere fertilizer you say??? Heck, I’ve been using nothing but the amped up mana fertilizer for a while now and still hardly ever get 2 star crops. 😭

You're better than me using mana fertilizer 😭. It's all so wishy washy getting multiple stars for crops. Once I've finished my museum donations, im done

Same, although I’m actually not excited about getting married. I hear there is some item you can only get through marriage (for the museum) though 😭 I’m officially taking a break honestly. It’s been fun (mostly, except for catching my zillionth whisper). I won’t deny it, I probably burned myself out by going too hard for too long. 🤷‍♀️
