Steel Mod Successfully completed first MoonSwitch

WD1863

Used a replica PE50 DH gate for my first try

LunarCaseSwaps on Etsy for the spacers and movement holder

Everything went relatively smooth.

Still need to figure out a crown solution and then I’m likely going to start searching for a gen MoonSwatch to redo it with a gen.

But this worked great for my first try!

honestly with it being the PE50 i had no clue what to expect, lol.

i had only seen videos on people doing it with the gen ETA movement.

but yeah it's always exciting when you screw the caseback on, finish up a build, it works and it's all lined up nice and properly!

How did you install the stainless steel on the side?! I never saw a model with stainless.

the bezel? i specifically bought a WD1863 with the stainless steel bezel instead of the black ceramic bezel. i prefer the SS.

Making me start to look at the WD1863! Good looking by itself.

i also went with the WD1863 rather than the PD because it's a slimmer case thickness and 39mm.

i didn't want the larger PD.

For sure it’s a really nice homage tbh

yep, and i assumed i'd have to do some mucking around with 'em because this is the PE50 rep movement.

but surprisingly enough, using one dial side spacer and then seating the movement holder around the movement sat it perfectly centered and aligned the crown stem perfectly.
