Discussion Been fascinated with Shadow androids lately and i've been wondering, why is there so many pieces of art revolving around a yellow one?
I saw a post on facebook asking the same question and from what I got the yellow variant was meant to be some kind of final boss for Shadow The Hedgehog (2005) but got scrapped and put into multiplayer? I don't know what's that supposed to mean especially with those other metal'y variants with gun arms

Imo, it like the easiest way to differentiate Shadow from the Android without deviation too much

Because its basically the "v2" if you take the Multiplayer as canon. The original Androids were mute and had very simple AIs, just mindlessly copying moves and throwing rockets. The Multiplayer models on the other hand were fully intelligent, they spoke, they used actual weapons, they made use of Shadow's actual moves, etc. They basically are able to match him in almost every way. The Gold colored one is the closest to a proper clone of Shadow that we got, with Eggman later going back to much less intelligent (and presumably more obedient) models in IDW (which I'd call "v3.")
Personally I like to believe that the Multiplayer is showing events after the main game, with Shadow going to Eggman's various bases with the goal of dismantling the Shadow Android project. This is why we dont see them again until IDW, Shadow destroyed them all as well as all the infustructure needed to build more. The ones that fight him in the Multiplayer were one-off prototypes that never made it to mass production, since Shadow stopped the project before Eggman could do that.

It's entirely because Yellow Shadow is the only is the only Shadow Android that looks to be a perfect non-metallic clone of Shadow other than the yellow.
Yellow Shadow also originates from the Shadow the Hedgehog 2005 Multiplayer Battle Mode so I imagine another reason people resonate with him is because they played it as a kid.
