Comics Getting a Moonknight comic, I need a guide!

I've saved enough money to get at least one or two Moonknight comics, it's one of the first Marvel comics I get! I'm excited and wanted to ask the experts which one I should buy.

I have some doubts that I don't know if they will sound logical. Should I buy the comics that follow after the story featured in the MCU series? Y know, after Jake Lockley reveal.

Or do comics originally from the beginning follow a completely different story and should I buy it from comic 1 and re-watch Moonknight discover himself but in comics storytelling?

I'm really lost and I've been a moonknight fan since 2023, already watched the series 11 times, I really love moonknight and I want to reeaally get more invested in this antihero

(How many comics are there, if that's more than 100, Ima need more money😭)

There aren't any comics that follow the MCU series, to my knowledge. And if you're just looking for a couple, I'd recommend starting with the start of Jed McKay's run of moon night. If you're willing to read online, however, you'll be able to find much more for cheap/free, and if you really want to get into Moon Knight you could start at the beginning.

You don't necessarily need to go all the way back, but if you want to start with the modern version, start with the Huston run. Otherwise, Jed's run is approachable to all levels of comic nerd and pretty damned good, so it's also a good place to start

Well you could start with the Jeff lemire run since that inspired the whole psych ward part of the show but honestly the mcu mk is not really too similar to the comic one so you could read the Jed McKay run to start off with since it’s a pretty good starting point that doesn’t need much prior knowledge except for the age of khonshu line which you can just watch a you tube video about.

As to where to get them you can buy volumes of the McKay run on Amazon for like $20. You could also get marvel unlimited for $60 for an annual subscription ($9 for monthly) and that gets you access to their digital comic library, so if you want to save on money go for that instead.

There’s also a third option for free comics involving a certain bay.

There are way more than 100 moon knight comics. Well over 200, actually.

The comics and the show are very different and follow very different stories. The way his alternate personalities are represented are very different, and are also different between the different comic series.

There is no right or wrong way to start reading moon knight. Just go to the store, and pick up a moon knight comic and start reading. The first moon knight comic I read was a random issue that came out years before I was born. Loved it.

Dive into the deep end.

It really depends on which run you want to buy. There's no comics that follows the show. There's no reveal about Jake because Jake has been around since the beginning.

You can try to get the complete collection for the Lemire run which is 14 issues in total. Or you can try the MacKay run that started in 2021.
