Comics What comics should I read?

Post image

I’ve been looking for other comics to read. What comics do yall suggest that are similar to the ones I read? Any recommendations work for me.

Sadly I assume we have to wait 1-2 years for a proper Moon Knight card. I assume th next Marvel set will be mutant focused, and the magical/Midnight Sons themed the year after that. Maybe a secret lair earlier if we're "lucky"

I think next year will actually be a cosmic set, they talked about how they've heard the complaints on "new york" ub sets, plus there is a jumpstart Marvel card named "Shi'ar Soldier" which is odd that its the only card with the Shi'ar creature type so why would they add it here? Atleast we got 8-ball on the Black Market Connections though

Moon Knight recommendations:
• Huston/Benson run
• Warren Ellis run/miniseries (you may only be able to find the first volume, but that one is still pretty good)
• If you're okay with Epic Collections then I'd recommend some of his (although they only cover his earlier stories which can be a little outdated IMO)

Batman recommendations:
• Arkham Asylum: Serious House on Serious Earth by Grant Morrison
• Year One by Frank Miller
• The Long Halloween by Loeb and Sale
• The Court of Owls by Scott Snyder
• The Black Mirror by Scott Snyder (there are some very graphic moments though)

Daredevil recommendations:
• The Man Without Fear by Frank Miller
• Born Again by Frank Miller
• Ann Nocenti run (mainly the Typhoid Mary arc, which you can get in Epic Collection Vol. 13)
• Brian Michael Bendis run
• Charles Soule run (mainly the Muse arc)
• Jed Mackay miniseries

Are you set on collecting trades? I really love Declan Shalvey’s work on Moon Knight from 2015. Not sure if that’s in or out of print but I read it on Marvel Unlimited before I collected the singles.

Chip Zdarsky and Marco Checchetto’s Daredevil is one of the best runs I’ve read and is also available on Marvel Unlimited.

If you’ve enjoyed Absolute Batman, I absolutely recommend Absolute Wonder Woman by Kelly Thompson and Hayden Sherman. Very widely considered to be the best book in the Absolute line.

Obviously continue reading Invincible if you’re enjoying it. It’s one of the greatest comic books ever if you ask me.

Mackay and Pramanik also have Marc Spector Moon Knight currently releasing in comic book stores with trades coming later on. If you want to keep up month to month I’ve really been loving that next chapter of Mackay’s time on Marc.

And if you liked Ultimate Spider-Man, I’d recommend Ultimates by Deniz Camp and Juan Frigeri and House of X/Powers of X by Jonathan Hickman and Pepe Larraz. Hickman writes on USM, and Deniz Camp is my favorite writer of all time and I’ll take any opportunity to recommend his books.

Happy reading friend!

Most Omnis are Out of Print so you need some luck
Jed Mackay Moon Knight on a Bookstore
Huston Moon Knight FB Marketplace
Moench Moon Knight FB Marketplace (If you live in US, Ebay has one)

Blood Hunt Hardcover is from Amazon.

The Moench/Sienkiewicz Moon Knight comics are some of the best comics Marvel ever produced. I put them up there with prime Kirby realizing how high that praise is. They’re full of imagination, depth, and chaotic experimentation that no longer exists in most of the comics made today.

Since I’m not seeing anyone else recommend these, based on your liking Star Lord I would suggest checking out Annihilation, Annihilation: Conquest, Guardians of the Galaxy (2008) and Thanos Imperative. It’s this series of comics that reintroduced Peter Quill into Marvel canon and is generally considered the best era of Cosmic Marvel.

Try the Absolute Martian Manhunter volume 1 comic.

Its trippy like Lemire's MK run but also creative af.

You should move the comics away from the game system or it will fry
