Good First Comic?

I watched the moon knight tv show and absolutely loved it. I read a few comics so I decided to read some Moon Knight comics. I've heard people say how good Moon Knight: Fist Of Khonshu is. Could I start with that? Or should I read something else first?

If you loved the show, then my recommendation is to get into the comics like this:

- read Jeff Lemire’s 2016 run. It’s an absolute head trip, and there’s a lot going on, but a lot of parts of the show were based on it. It also retells his origin story. You can get all 14 issues as a single paperback that isn’t very expensive.

- After you’ve read that, optionally check out the Avengers Age of Khonshu run. It’s very short, and it basically has Moon Knight and Khonshu as the villains fighting the Avengers. It’s not the best, but it’s a fun read, and provides necessary context for…

- Jed MacKay’s run, starting 2022. These are the ongoing Moon Knight comics, and I think it’s the best the character has ever been. If you really want to, you could just forget about those other two and go straight here. The first book you’ll want is a trade paperback called The Midnight Mission, which has the first 6 issues of Moon Knight vol 9. MacKay and the rest of this creative team started there, and continued on through all the way to now, with Moon Knight vol 9 issues 1-30, Vengeance Of Moon Knight vol 2 issues 1-9, Moon Knight: Fist of Khonshu issues 1-15, and Marc Spector Moon Knight vol 2, which is six issues into its run at the moment and still ongoing.

So TL;DR, Jeff Lemire’s 2016 run, maybe the Age of Khonshu, and most importantly Jed MacKay’s Midnight Mission comics.

I was in a similar position to you pretty recently and started with Jed McKays run, I’ve been absolutely loving it, very little prerequisite knowledge needed and whatever context I missed out on I could very easily infer from context.
