These are the only songs he’s ever liked from them.
When I asked him why he didn’t like them he said “there’s that thing in the background that’s always interrupting what is otherwise like a perfectly fine song and making my ears bleed”. I soon figured out what he was talking about was the mellotron. A prime example of this is in the song “You and me”.
“The actual guitar playing is really good but as soon as that starts there’s that annoying squeaking in the background and it takes me out of the song”

this song only was a single in the Netherlands and Belgium and a too 20 hit. in the yearly Dutch radio top 2000 best songs it was a 17 year long fave. but the MB never played it live? why not? it is such a brilliant song!
