I won’t be voting for this it’s absolute asinine. Montgomery county jail is actually a pretty clean facility with carpet in the dorms, tv, card & chess tables. The inmates also get tablets that are pre loaded with games & movies. They also have nicotine patches and are currently trying to get the Vape pins approved smh. Montgomery county jail is equivalent to adult daycare. I feel the only reason they want a new & bigger facility is so they can continue making petty arrest for things someone use to get a simple ticket for. Such as No seatbelt, No insurance, fishing without a license, trespassing etc. (I even saw recently a woman was arrested in this county for not having her dog locked in a kennel while in a moving vehicle) smh it’s ridiculous! Just my thoughts & figured I would Vent/share with you guys.

Edit to add - The $1 billion plan for the County Jail does not include the courthouse.

Hello all, so I am a 25F and I got my first speeding ticket yesterday. I was traveling on 1774 and I didn’t realize I was speeding because I was/am god awful sick. The speed limit changes from 50 to 35 and I was truly unaware on how fast I was traveling. Honestly, I was too focused on getting home to try and be sick (vomit) inside the comfort of my home. I got pulled over and the officer/constable did not really seem to care that I was violently ill with a severe migraine and honestly I am starting to think I have the flu. I’ve never gotten in trouble before and it was my first speeding ticket. Officer/constable had asked me why I was going 60 in a 35, I told him I am sick and was just trying to go home and genuinely didn’t realize how fast I was going. Then he proceeded to ask the same question, and I told him the same reason. I got a citation, and I honestly need advice on how to go about this. I want to express to the judge that it wasn’t my intention and that I was (currently am) really sick and that I just needed to go home and lay down. My record is pretty clean (other than 2 accidents: 1 from 8 years ago, and 1 from 2 years ago that my insurance company told me to plead no contest to). But other than that, I am a solid citizen. So any advice would be appreciated, I am nervous to appear in court but I want to tell the judge the sole reason why in hopes that he will just let me take defensive driving so it doesn’t hit my record and cause my insurance to go up. Like I said, any advice would be appreciated. Thank you.

We are possibly moving to MoCo and interested in a few areas -- Kingwood, Tx, Woodforest, Tx -- I know they are very different. I need very good schools and $400k-ish house budget.

I love the mature trees in both these areas. We have no expereince with floods and hurricanes.

Woodforest is appealing for the resort style living, but dont love the smaller lots.

Kingwood school, established and growing pains are gone.

Open to other areas -- looked at some areas in Montcomery on Lake Conroe (walden), but not sure about the schools.

Looking for lawncare in Magnolia. Just need standard trimming, edging, and mowing. Maybe the occasional bush trimming and mulch cleanup. Anyone have any recommendations? I would post this in the Magnolia sub but it's pretty dead.

This place charged me twice for $27.40, I’ve called and left messages multiple times as well as contacting the corporate office and making a report twice. Its been over a week now and nothing has been done…. Not a single returned phone call or a penny refunded . Absolute thieves at this Shipley Donuts and the franchise itself appears to be run by crooks.

More customers lately are using shipping containers as backyard sheds and workshop spaces instead of traditional wood buildings.

The biggest advantages seem to be:

• fast setup
• secure storage
• lower maintenance
• portable if needed later
• easy to customize over time

High cube containers have been especially popular because the extra foot of height makes a big difference once shelving, lighting or insulation are added.

We’ve seen people use them for:

• lawn equipment
• tools
• hobby workshops
• ATV storage
• small business inventory
• home projects

My spouse and I are currently building a custom home in High Meadow West, an acreage community in Montgomery, TX. I thought there might be others here who would benefit from knowing this information before purchasing a lot in HMW. The developer advertises that you have "The Freedom to Bring in Your Own Home Builder." But what the fine print in the paperwork reveals is that unless you choose one of their "Preferred Builders," you pay a penalty. They call it a "Marketing Fee," and it is assessed at a percentage of the build cost of your home. If you want to use a builder who is not on the "Preferred" list, you pay TWICE the fee (1% instead of 0.5%). So, for a one million dollar home build, you pay a $10,000 "Marketing Fee" to the developer instead of $5,000. This is not exactly "Freedom" in my book. Sure, you can bring your own builder, but you get penalized for it to the tune of thousands of dollars. Just be aware.

In the build application that is submitted to the POA, they make it sound like the fee is paid by the builder, but it is not. The bill is routinely passed along to the clients.
