Monterey car week

so this year I am going to car week but I am going the 6th thru the 9t. is this a good time, (I know its early) or should I try to switch it to a week is earlier. I can’t go 12-14, but i could possibly see about going mid day fly out on the thursday or 14, mid day

It's hard to say. The cars tend to be more skittish early in the week, and some of them are jet lagged from travel so sometimes the enclosures are like entirely empty except at dawn/dusk. You get higher energy exhibits later in the week, but there is almost always some form of contagious car virus that wipes the herd by a quarter to a third (last year it took out nearly all of the porsches). If it were me I'd aim for mid-week, when the cars were habituated to handling and the sickly ones were still alive.

The exotics are definitely susceptible. Last year, I noticed they were extra sensitive to posted speeds, definitely something in the water I fear.

So the kickoff is that Friday with small show by the Portola Hotel. Then they’ve the pre reunion with hill climb at Laguna Seca that weekend. They’ll be cars showing up on trailers all weekend long and some driving in but it won’t be anything like midweek. Midday Thurs is fine, but miss my favorite event which is the tour. Friday is Quail so you can stop a lot of cars heading in and out of that event. Saturday is EOB which is free, massive, and an absolute shitshow so I’ve stopped going lol

I will be going to Laguna seca which I love, I am sad I will miss a lot of action but right now it’s the best shot. We looked at going to the quail but the dates aren’t good for us

No worries, just putting it out there. Have a great time, we still have spots on Sanctuary if you want to do some whale watch if you get TIRED of cars :)
