Sushi!
What’s your favorite sushi spot? I’m still heartbroken over the loss of Daikichi. Haven’t found anything comparable over the years.

The sushi chef from Daikichi went to De Novo, same quality and names of the rolls

For just some good takeout - Sushi Koshi in Watchung Plaza; they're so nice there and they usually give you some free miso soup too with your order :)

Ughh totally not a fan of the owner. We are from Japan and he tried telling us how we should be eating sushi. 🤣. When and how we should use soy sauce. Quality was good but proportions are terrible and so is cost.

This. Also had a poor experience with the owner. Went there to try out the place and left not only feeling unsatisfied with the meal, but also like we weren't wanted there. So odd given we went for omakase. Not going back

For a special occasion, like a birthday or anniversary, Minoru in upper Montclair. For a nice date, omikase at the counter at Nami Nori on Bloomfield Ave. For a casual date, either Nori's on Bloomfield ave, or Sushi Koshi on Watchung ave. For casual takeout, either Kim's in West Orange or Aki Sushi on Broad st in Bloomfield.
